We have a new NOUN ....

Well it seems Sarah Palin has left her mark in history .... she's now a NOUN. From the Urban Dictonary:

Palin (n):
1. An applicant lacking even basic job skills 2. Someone supremely un-self-aware or lacking any relative sense of what he/she does or doesn't know.
HR sent me another Palin for the marketing manager job.

Is this a great time to be alive or what???

There has been so much I've seen in my short life ... men walking on the moon .... information at your finger tips .... but now:

.... Only 145 years after slavery was abolished ....

.... Only 53 years since Rosa Parks refused to give up her bus seat for a white passenger ...

.... Only 45 years since Martin Luther King, Jr. said: "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character."

On November 4th, 2008 a majority of voters elected Barack Hussein Obama the 44th President of the United States.

Congratulations ...... now get to work!!!

(by all means, call me if I can be of any assistance)

The Superbowl for Geeks

Lisa is concerned and thinks I'm obsessed ... maybe so .... I'm glued to intrade and ... and I've come up with this: an election night scorecard to have handy as I sit and watch the returns come in.

The list is sorted by percentage-Margin-of-victory from the 2004 election .... the closest races up top ... I'm expecting this is where all the activity will be ... I've also included columns for which way the state went in 2004 and what the polls are saying about that state this year.

This election is by NO MEANS a done deal. I'm still concerned about Pennsylvania, and I'm not convinced about any red to blue conversions.

It boils down to this: For an Obama victory he needs to HOLD all Kerry blue states PLUS add either one "jewel" like Ohio or Florida or pick up a "set" like New Mexico, Iowa and Colorado .. or Virginia and Iowa. In short 18 more electoral votes than Kerry.

I think it's going to be a long night ....
